Carroll L. “Porky” Worrell

2004 Effingham County Sports Hall of Fame Inductee

Born August 12, 1925 – He married Lera on December 24, 1949.

They moved to Rincon in November 1959.

He was instrumental in Little League baseball in Rincon in 1960. He was also involved in getting Effingham County involved in Georgia Recreation and Parks Society.  He helped started the Rincon Athletic Association in 1962.  He worked work closely with Noel C. Conaway in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s with the Effingham County Youth Athletic Association.

He coached little league baseball in Rincon for years.

He had 3 children: Valarie W. Williams, Roy M. Worrell, and Susan W. Waldhour.
