Attended Clyo Elementary and High School finished high school in 1964 at Beach High School.

Played basketball and baseball at Clyo at 14 years old.

Played point guard in basketball and pitched baseball at Clyo High.

Started managing the Clyo Bluebirds (Baseball Georgia/South Carolina League)

and played at 16 years old.

Pitched 3 shut outs and 4 two hitters

Pitched one game in Quincy Florida for the Quincy Tigers at age 17 in 1950, minor league team for Detroit.

Was assistant fire chief at Clyo volunteer fire department in 1980.

A member of Clyo Lodge 262.
