County Women’s League

Mary played in the county church and women’s league from 1963 until 1971.

Positions: 3^rd & 2^nd base.

Mary helped organize and build the Guyton Athletic Association (which built the Mary Owens Memorial Softball Field). She was an association member and fundraiser.

The ball field was dedicated and named for her in 1971. The women and men’s leagues and softball fields were supported by the players, community volunteers, and concession profits. Hard work and dedication were required to build a facility.
